Why This Work Matters to Me

I didn't come to this work through a textbook. I came to it through lived experience — my own, and through watching people I care about struggle in systems that weren't built for the way their minds work.

Dyslexic individuals often experience a real mismatch between the way they naturally think and the way traditional learning environments present information. Over time, repeated struggle can affect confidence and leave capable learners questioning their own abilities.

Helping change that belief — and watching someone begin to understand and value the way their mind works — is some of the most meaningful work I've ever done.

I became a Licensed Davis® Facilitator because the Davis approach resonated deeply with my own experience — it recognizes and builds upon the way many dyslexic individuals naturally think and learn.

My Approach

Every person is capable

I have never met a dyslexic person who wasn't capable of learning. What they often lack isn't ability — it's the right tools and someone who believes in them.

Respect for the whole person

Programs are unhurried, individualized, and built around the person in front of me — not a curriculum. Children, teens, and adults are treated with equal dignity and respect.

No shame, no blame

Years of struggle can leave deep marks. Part of my work is helping clients — and their families — understand that the difficulty was never a character flaw.
