Program Schedule

The Program Schedule, Hours, and Breaks

The intensive portion of the program requires approximately 25-30 hours of attendance by the client and 4-8 hours by family members when applicable.  These hours are generally scheduled over 4-5 consecutive days, approximately 6 hours a day.

  • The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 9:00AM-12:00PM and 1:15PM-3:45PM.
  • Support training is usually on Friday or otherwise arranged.
  • ADD and Autism Programs follow a different time schedule.
  • Short breaks, at least once an hour, are an essential part of the program.  They are necessary for preventing stress, learning the value of backing off when overly confused, and celebrating successes.  These times are best used for games, and snacks.
  • It is recommended my clients bring healthy snacks and drinks, a refrigerator is available.
  • Lunch periods are from 12:00-1:15PM, and are not supervised, so parents must make any needed arrangements during this time.

Physical Requirements

  • Clients must eat regularly and get enough sleep to ensure good mental alertness while doing the program.
  • Alcohol as well as certain drugs and medications, can interfere with the effectiveness of the program.  Current medications must be disclosed in advance and clients must refrain from alcohol during the program.  Prescribed medications should not be discontinued without a medical doctor’s approval.
  • Any pain, illness, or discomfort, either physical or emotional, which occurs during the program, should be reported to me immediately.

Support Person

  • Support persons may be a spouse, parent, grandparent, tutor, teacher, etc.
  • Support persons should attend the support training at the end of the week in order to learn how they can assist the child in using techniques necessary for maintaining corrected perception, eliminating confusion, improving basic skills and word mastery.
