FAQs Concerning the Dyslexia Program

Q.  Why do you say “correct” instead of “cure”?

A. “Cure” implies a malady or ill health (mental or physical). “Correct” means to remove errors and mistakes, to make right.

Q.  What can an individual expect to gain from the program?

A.  The basic tools of literacy including the following benefits:

  • Increased self-confidence and ability in physical skills in addition to improvement in reading, writing, and math.
  • The knowledge of how to eliminate confusion in words and symbols.
  • The ability to focus attention.
  • The ability to recognize and correct disorientation at will.
  • A method of learning that can be used throughout life.
  • Other remediation and therapy programs will work better and faster with these tools.

Q.  What happens after the program?

A.  Follow-up and support measures are included as part of the program and consist of the following products and services:

  • Student kit with all the program materials.
  • Training for a tutor, teacher or family members.
  • Telephone consultations.
  • Up to three return visits as needed.

Q: How much gain in reading or writing ability should we expect post program?

A: This is a literacy jump-start. Future progress is determined by the individual’s motivation and continued use of Davis Symbol Mastery® after the program. There is usually a marked difference by the last day of the program.

Q: Can I speak with others who have been through your program?

A: Certainly.  A list of clients who completed the program with me and agreed to share their experiences with others will be sent to you upon request.
